Caregiving for a 74-year-old senior (70 kg, 165 cm) with early-stage dementia and general age-related weakness. The client is physically mobile and has lived alone until now, but due to worsening orientation and occasional impatience, he now requires support in daily life. As his daughter lives abroad, we are looking for an independent caregiver with intermediate knowledge of the German language to provide a safe and active environment for him. Your primary responsibilities will include social engagement—sharing meals, conversations, and accompanying him on walks. A crucial part of the role is overseeing medication intake and assisting with organizing medical appointments. The senior is independent in hygiene and dressing but needs guidance and help with preparation (e.g., 1-2 times a week for visits to a day care center). He is showing signs of early incontinence, so discreet supervision is necessary. Night work is not required. Accommodation is provided in a large family house (200 m²), where you will have your own room and private bathroom on the upper floor. The senior's car is available for the caregiver, facilitating shopping and errands. There is a designated covered area outside for smokers. Free time is flexible upon agreement with the senior, and the daughter communicates remotely, providing full trust in household management.

For families in Switzerland, due to high demand, the wait may extend to two months.

Of course, you can also choose another transportation method that you prefer. The caregiver pays for the journey themselves, with the family in Germany contributing €150-200 towards it, and in Switzerland 380 CHF.
In Germany, the standard length of a work period is 4 to 6 weeks, while in Switzerland it's 2 months. In the case of temporary replacements, the periods are shorter.
The salary range in Germany is between €1200 and €2200 per month on a trade license. Compensation depends on the required language and other skills, the client's health condition, and whether care is provided for an individual or a married couple. In Switzerland, the salary ranges from 2460 to 2500 CHF per month on a Swiss employment contract.
In Germany, an intermediate to good knowledge of German is most commonly required, while some families are satisfied with basic knowledge and/or require knowledge of another language, such as Czech or Russian. Families in Switzerland require good knowledge of German, though sometimes an upper-intermediate level is sufficient.
